This farm also has a small Christmas shop with decorations, candles, chairs, etc. In the back, there is a farm house style public restroom and a snack bar selling $1 Swiss Miss hot chocolate

Very disappointed in our tree experience this year. We've been looking forward to cutting our own tree from a tree farm down the road from us since we moved here in Jan. We went to the Friendship Tree Farm on Old Solamons Island Rd. I will never go there again! The customer service was horrible and tree selection was not great. Most trees were thin towards the top or too small. Never having done this before, we specifically asked the workers in the baling area what the process was. They told us to just grab a saw and go choose our tree. There were no signs or directions as to what size tree we were to chop down. After choosing our 5ish foot tree, our children asked if they could choose a small tree for themselves. We've done this in the past at other tree lots so didn't think we'd have a problem. We brought them up to the front and were scolded for chopping down the small trees, even after saying we'd pay full price ($57 each) for them. They didn't trim the tree or assist in tying the tree to our vehicle. Instead of leaving the lot with a nice tree and a feeling of Christmas, our children left feeling terrible due to poor business practices. It was absolutely unacceptable.

I have been going here for about three years. I found the trees to be awesome. A great place walk around and exercise for us. The store is really adorable as well. Tons of trees. I never had a problem with the staff.

Wonderful family business. Very busy because of the returning customers but worth the wait. Love how you get to cut your own tree and bring your 4 legged family members as well. It's understandable small trees cannot be cut due to the fact that small trees grow into larger ones. Memories made here.

Friendship Trees and Christmas Shop is a smaller farm, but that means less people competing for trees. It's close to the shore just 30 minutes from Capital Hill in Washington, DC. Unlike other farms, it's a set price ($50) for any tree you cut down yourself regardless of height. If you want to pay for the best trees, they already cut those down and sell them for between $75-$100. We found one of their only big trees and after bailing, we paid $63. They tie up the tree for you and attach it to your car.

Living in Washington, DC, we always turn our Christmas tree hunt into an adventure outside of the city. We usually go to Butler's Farm, but last year they didn't have any good trees. That led us to consider other options. After a friend posted about Friendship Trees on Instagram and we saw it's just 30 minutes from Capital Hill, we had to go.

They sold out of trees...it is a Christmas tree farm....really?
